2-Naphthalenethiol Use and Manufacturing
Firstly, 2-naphthol and dimethylamino thioformyl chloride are reacted in the presence of alkali to prepare O-2 naphthyl dimethylamino thioformate. After purification, each is heated to 270-275°C and reacted for 45 minutes. After cooling, add it to the mixture of potassium hydroxide solution and ethylene glycol, and heat to reflux for 1 hour. After hydrochloric acid, chloroform extraction, subtraction extraction and vacuum distillation, 2-naphthylthiol is obtained.
It is used as a regenerative activator in the rubber industry, suitable for low temperature use, but the activation effect is not as good as that of the mangosteen disulfide, and it makes the regenerated tape have an unpleasant smell. The general dosage is 0.1-1.5%, the product can also be used as anti-aging agent, plasticizer and organic synthesis intermediate. 2-Naphthol is toxic and can cause dermatitis and ulcers.
