Methods of Manufacturing

Mix dichloromethane and sodium iodide, stir at room temperature, and add dimethylformamide dropwise. After the addition, the temperature is raised to the slow reflux of the reactant (about 71℃) for 10h. After standing overnight, steam distillation was performed. The organic layer was separated from the distillate, washed with water, and the organic layer was dried and fractionated to obtain chloroiodomethane.
