2-Ethoxy-5-methylaniline Use and Manufacturing

A suspension of 1-ethoxy-4-methyl-2-nitro-benzene (2.71 g) obtained in Example (41a) and a 10percent palladium-carbon catalyst (0.27 g) in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (40 mL) was stirred at room temperature under a hydrogen atmosphere for 25.5 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered through a cellulose powder, concentrated and dried under reduced pressure, and 2.26 g (100percent) of the title compound was obtained as a dark brown solid.
