Isolated from peppermint oil (type l). In the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate, it is obtained from the reaction of menthol and acetic anhydride after washing and distillation (dl type).

Uses

GB 2760-1996 stipulates the allowable food flavors. Mainly used to prepare mint, fruit and berry flavors.
