H-VAL-NH2HCL Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

General procedure: The appropriate carboxylic acid (1.0 mmol), appropriate amine (1.2 eq.), hydroxybenzotriazole (203 mg, 1.5 eq., 1.5 mmol), 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (288 mg, 1.5 eq., 1.5 mmol) and N, N-diisopropylethylamine (871 muL, 5 eq., 5.0 mmol) were dissolved in N, N-dimethylformamide (5 mL) and the mixture stirred for 24 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate (30 mL), extracted with ethyl acetate (3 × 20 mL), washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate (30 mL), saturated aqueous ammonium chloride (30 mL) and aqueous lithium chloride (1 M, 30 mL), dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure.

Uses

L-Valine Amide is a reagent used in the synthesis of alkylpyrazines. Also used in the synthesis of elastase inhibitory activity.
