trans-4-Hydroxy-D-proline Use and Manufacturing

Hydroxyproline (1.0 g, 7.63 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (10 mL), and dichlorosulfoxide (0.66 mL, 9.15 mmol) was added dropwise to the mixture at room temperature, stirred for 15 minutes, It was then heated to reflux for 4 hours. It was cooled to room temperature and evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure to give a white solid.
