4-Fluoro-2-methylaniline Use and Manufacturing
To a solution of 4-fluoro-2-methyl-1-nitrobenzene (3b, 243 mL, 2.00 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was added 10percent Pd/C (21 mg, 0.020 mmol). The reaction mixturewas stirred and bubbled with H2at room temperature for 2 h. The solids were filtered off andwashed with DCM (25 mL). The filtrate and DCM washing werecombined and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residuewas purified by flash column chromatography (silica gel, P.E.ramping to PE:EtOAc 4:1) to give 4b as a pink oil (250 mg, 100percent).General procedure for deprotection of tert-butylsulfinyl group: N-(4-cyano-3-fluorophenyl)-2-methylpropane-2-sulfinamide (240 mg, 1.0 mmol) in 1, 4-dioxane (4 ml) was added 4.0M HCl in dioxane (4ml) and stirred at room temperature for 15 min. Reaction mixture was diluted with water, basified with saturated NaHCO
