Drug Function and Efficacy
It inhibits ovulation, changes cervical secretions, makes the menstrual cycle more regular, relieves dysmenorrhea, reduces bleeding, and reduces the occurrence of iron deficiency. When combined with drospirenone, it helps to increase the level of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), which is beneficial for binding with endogenous androgens and inactivating them.
