(±)-Benzoin ethyl ether Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is derived from the condensation of benzoin and absolute ethanol. The industrial product (first-class product) is a white solid powder with a melting point of 62°C. Raw material consumption quota: formaldehyde (used for synthetic benzoin) 1500kg/t, absolute ethanol 3900kg/t.

Uses

It is used as a photosensitizer, mainly used in the printing industry to produce photosensitive resin boards, and plays a role in light curing in the coating industry
