Octadecyltrimethylammonium bromide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

First add dimethyl octadecylamine to the autoclave, then add an appropriate amount of water and isopropanol as the solvent, and use a small amount of base as the catalyst. Replace the air in the kettle with nitrogen filling (to avoid side reactions), heat to 120 ~ 150 ℃, and slowly introduce methyl bromide (theoretical amount). React for 2 h at 0.4-0.5 MPa, cool, reduce pressure, and dilute to 50% with water. The output packaging is the finished product.

Uses

Used as a surface activator; used in catalysts, emulsifiers, disinfectants, bactericidal bases, antistatic agents, etc.
