TETRAAMINOPYRIMIDINES CAN COMBINE WITH VARIOUS PHENOLIC COUPLERS SUCH AS 2,4-DIAMINOPHENOL AT PH 8-10 TO FORM YELLOW AND BROWN DYES WITH GOOD FASTNESS. THE COMPONENTS MAY BE COUPLED IN THE PRESENCE OF EITHER ATMOSPHERIC OXYGEN OR (TO LIGHTEN THE SHADE) HYDROGEN PEROXIDE.
