Sodium prasterone sulfate Use and Manufacturing

An active agent in the preparation of a pharmaceutical for the treatment of asthma or other respiratory diseases.

Drug Function and Efficacy

Androgen drugs. This product is dehydroepiandrosterone, which can promote the proliferation of cervical tissue-type fibroblasts and the enlargement of smooth muscle cells. Under the combined action of dehydroepiandrosterone and estradiol, the vascular permeability of the cervical canal tissue increases, the water content increases, and the acidic mucopolysaccharide in the cell matrix increases. The hormone also enhances the activity of tissue collagenase, promotes the decomposition of collagen fibers, expands the fiber gap, and breaks the tissue fibers, which ultimately leads to the softening of the cervical canal tissue, enhanced extensibility, and relaxation of the cervical os.

This ingredient has been used in drugs with the following functions (note: it does not mean that the ingredient itself has the following health functions)
