Description

Lead oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Pb3O4. It is a series of products formed by the oxidation of liquid and solid lead. It is a bright orange powder, insoluble in water and ethanol, but soluble in hot lye, dilute nitric acid, acetic acid, and hydrochloric acid. The density of lead oxide is 9.1g/cm3. It decomposes when heated to 500 ° C and melts at 830 ° C under pressure and oxygen. Lead oxide is a kind of flammable solid, easy to spontaneous combustion in the air, produce toxic and harmful gases, it has strong oxidation, and can react with most substances, resulting in fire and explosion, it is irritating and corrosive, mainly used as an anti-rust pigment, organic synthesis oxidizer, can also be used in batteries, glass, ceramics, enamel.

Lead oxide (Pb3O4) Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The molten lead oxidation method heats and melts electrolytic lead to make 30 mill: 30 mm lead pellets, which are ball milled and crushed at 170 to 210°C, crushed after low-temperature roasting at 300°C, and then subjected to high-temperature roasting and oxidation at 480 to 500°C. Crushed to produce lead trioxide. 6PbO+O2→2Pb3O4

Uses

Plasters and ointments; manufacture of colorless glass; glaze for faience; flux for porcelain painting, protective paint for iron and steel; oil-color for ship paints, varnishes; coloring rubber; cement for glass, gas and steam pipes; storage batteries; pencils for writing on glass; manufacture of lead peroxide, matches.

Drug Function and Efficacy

According to modern pharmacological experiments, Sophora flavescens contains matrine, cytisine and flavonoids, which have inhibitory effects on tuberculosis bacteria and various skin fungi, and have anti-trichomoniasis effects. Coptis chinensis contains berberine, coptisine, methyl coptisine, palmitoyl alkaloids and other alkaloids, of which berberine is the main component, containing about 5% to 8%. Phellodendron chinense also contains berberine, and a small amount of palmitoyl tetrandrine, phellodendron chinense, palmitoyl alkaloids and other alkaloids. Both drugs have a wide range of antibacterial effects and also have inhibitory effects on various pathogenic skin fungi. Berberine can enhance the phagocytic ability of white blood cells both in vivo and in vitro. Curcuma contains volatile oil, which contains semiterenol, curcumin, α-gingerene, eucalyptol, α-camphene, etc. Curcumin and others have inhibitory effects on mouse sarcoma 37, cervical cancer, and Ehrlich ascites cancer. 100% Wen Curcuma injection was injected into the peritoneal cavity of experimental sarcoma mice at a dose of 0.3 ml, which had a good therapeutic effect, with an average inhibition rate of more than 52%. Curcuma treats cervical cancer. In vivo and in vitro experiments have shown that it can not only directly inhibit and kill cancer cells, but also has an active immune protection effect. In recent years, the volatile oil (volatile oil brain) of this product has been injected into the tumor, or the powder, emulsion or suppository of this product has been used externally to treat early cervical cancer and vulvar cancer with significant efficacy. The emulsion or volatile oil ointment of this product can be applied to treat skin cancer.
