Methods of Manufacturing

It is derived from the reaction of furfuryl mercaptan and furfuryl bromide in ether solution in the presence of potassium hydroxide. It is obtained by mixing the potassium hydroxide alcohol solution of 2-furyl methyl mercaptan and the ether solution of furfuryl bromide by heating and refluxing.
