colourless liquid 1,3-Dichloropropene is a colorless to strawcolored liquid. Sharp, sweet, irritating, chloroform-like odor.A clear colorless liquid with chloroform odor . Flash point 95°. Density 1.225 g / cm3 and insoluble in water. Hence sinks in water. A strong irritant. Used as a soil fumigant.Colorless to pale yellow liquid with a chloroform-like odor. Evaporates quickly when spilled.

Miscible with acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, heptane, methanol (Worthing and Hance, 1991), methylene chloride, chloroform, trichloroethylene, and 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane.
Outside or detached storage is preferred. Inside storage should be in a standard flammable liquids storage warehouse, room, or cabinet. Separate from oxidizing materials and active metals.
