Description
Rosiglitazone is a type of thiazolidinedione antidiabetics. Thiazolidinedione are agonists for peroxisome-proliferator–activated receptor γ (PPAR-γ). PPAR-γ receptors are ligand-activated nuclear transcription factors that modulate gene expression, lowering blood glucose primarily by increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. Rosiglitazone is widely used to lower blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Drug Function and Efficacy
This product belongs to the thiazolidinedione antidiabetic drug, which effectively controls blood sugar by increasing the sensitivity of target tissues to insulin. As a highly selective and potent agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPAR-γ), rosiglitazone activates PPAR-γ nuclear receptors, regulates the transcription of insulin-responsive genes involved in glucose production, transport and utilization, and regulates fatty acid metabolism. Clinical studies have shown that the drug can improve blood sugar control, reduce fasting blood sugar (FPG) and HbAlc levels, and is accompanied by a decrease in blood insulin and C-peptide levels, and can also reduce postprandial blood sugar and insulin levels. Its anti-diabetic effect has also been verified in animal models of type 2 diabetes, effectively lowering blood sugar and delaying the development of diabetes.
