Zhejiang Zhongxian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is located in Shangyu National Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hangzhou Bay (former Shangyu Zhongxian Biotechnology Co., Ltd.). It was founded by Zhejiang Sixian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with registered capital of RMB 120 million in April 2013 and it covers an area of 85mu. It is an innovative enterprise engaged in biotechnology research and development, biotechnology transfer services, packaging machinery, and the R&D and production of chemical products such as pharmaceutical intermediates and raw material medicines. Zhongxian is the major manufacturer of its leading products 1000 T/A mixed tocopherol (T50) and 500 T/A of cyclic acid (WAS). The project was planned and designed by the Zhejiang Tianzheng Engineering Design Institute, and was strictly constructed in accordance with requirements such as safety, environmental protection, fire protection, and implementation plan for the Standardization of Pilot Projects for the Construction of Chemical Enterprises in Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total planned building area is 44,000 square meters (a total of 13 units: office buildings, workshops, warehouses, ancillary facilities and door guards). The first phase plans to implement 1,000T/A mixed tocopherol (T50) and 500T/A cyclic acid (WAS) projects, with a total investment of 280 million yuan, and 11 units including workshops, warehouses, complex buildings, ancillary facilities, and guards. The building area is nearly 24,000 square meters. The company has a technology research and development center formed by 25 researchers with college degree or above and 8 have middle and senior professional titles. The knowledge structure revolves around chemical synthesis, biological agents, and traditional Chinese medicine. The company has employed experts and scholars in the industry and universities as advisors and has established technical cooperation with Zhejiang University, China Pharmaceutical University, and Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. The company has advanced small-scale and pilot production equipment, testing and analysis equipment such as Agilent 1100 HPLC, Nicolet Fourier infrared spectrometer, Japan Shimadzu SPD-10AVP liquid chromatograph, MA30 moisture analyzer and 7890F GC. The research area is nearly 800 square meters.
