Company Profile
We offer an economically and environmentally sustainable alternative to plastics produced from petrochemicals with our high-quality post-consumer ABS, HIPS, PP, filled PP and HDPE products. Our raw material is a highly complex plastics-rich mixture of materials that is a “residue” (often called shredder residue) from the recycling of metals from automobiles, consumer electronic devices, appliances and other end-of-life durable goods. It is estimated that over 15 million tons (over 33 billion pounds) of plastics from these types of goods are disposed of each year around the world. These plastics are commonly land-filled or incinerated at high economic and environmental costs because it is considered too complicated or expensive to recover and to separate them. Our revolutionary separation technology has the potential to transform the supply chain of the plastics industry. Our post-consumer plastics reduce energy consumption by over 80% and protect the environment from between 1 and 3 tons of CO? emissions, compared to the production of one ton of “virgin” plastics from petrochemicals. Our commitment to providing a consistent and reliable supply of high quality post-consumer resins has forged relationships with OEMs and molders in several industries and numerous countries. We have already “closed the loop” and successfully demonstrated the substitution of virgin plastics in many demanding applications, challenging the perceived boundary between recycled and virgin materials. At MBA Polymers, we realize that sustainability, growing availability, and batch-to-batch product stability—consistent mechanical and processing properties—are of paramount importance to our customers. Our relentless attention to all three has put us in the global leadership position.State-of-the-art twin screw compounding technology enables us to tailor products to meet specific needs.
