Mr. C.A.PATEL, Hon. Director (ex. M.D.) and founder of M/s Samir Tech-Chem Pvt. Ltd., initially served in M/s Sarabhai Merck Ltd., a renowned Laboratory and fine chemicals manufacturing unit. "STC", a company was earlier dealing in Manufacturing and marketing of HIGH PURITY BULK CHEMICALS, products were supplied to M/s Sarabhai M. Chemicals, BDH(India) and others in 70's. M/s. SAMIR TECH-CHEM INDUSTRIES with 250 Laboratory chemicals in small (consumers) pack established in 1979, and was expanded in 1990 to a Private Limited company with nearly 800 products. With an object to EXPORT its products in MALAYSIA,EAST AFRICA etc., under Export obligation and requirements company developed NEW LABELS with Hazard information on it.* HAZARD, RISK & SAFETY:In 1991, for EXPORT orders, company introduced, Risk & Safety Phrases U.N. Hazard Classifications Chemical Abstract Services (CAS) Registry Numbers Storage Temperature & Flash Point........on labels. The statutory requirements under Export Obligation was displayed on labels and same was introduced for Indian market as a commitment to our NATION under AWARENESS programme. In 1995, significant development was in the chemical field with most of the colour coded systems introduced and displayed on labels (like Health, Flammability, Reactivity etc.) by manufacturers in USA and European countries. Company dedicated to safety and adopted HMIG, along with coloured hazard symbols on labels and started framing MSDS for most of its products.* HAZARDOUS MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION GUIDE (HMIG):HMIG communicates Hazard information through the use of colour, numbers, letters of alphabets & symbols. In this system Health (Blue), Flammability (Red), and Reactivity (yellow) are coded with colours and numbers, where as personal protective equipment (white) is with letter of alphabets and symbols. A unique system developed in USA by various VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS since 1994 and was accepted in USA and Europe (Since 1998) and made compulsory to display on products. We opted our moral RESPONSIBILITY under AWARENESS, to introduce the system as it is easy to IDENTIFY by mass uneducated workmen in developing countries like India and others. SPECIMEN LABELS shown will give you the idea of our products with specifications, which also include HMIG for first time in INDIA along with New coloured Hazard symbols having different background. For your reference, we are enclosing two pages specimen. In absence of Law like "RIGHT TO KNOW" information required for PUBLIC AWARENESS is not circulated in general. MSDS - covers most of preliminary information of the products and has 15 sections covering most of the required information, hence company has framed MSDS sections. "Materials Safety Data Sheets" for major used chemicals along with unique literatures, "Preparing & Understanding MSDSs" is available for your perusal and request.We request the Scientists to go through this literature before accidents happen, it is in you & your co-workers safety.Being a S.S.I. unit, we have our limitations, but we are, at "STC" committed to Environment & Safety of Mankind, with AWARENESS to ALL. (Literatures available on request)* STORAGE COLOUR CODE:For safe storage: chemicals are classified in 5 different categories & if they are stored as per the literature guidelines, accidents can be prevented.
