Multinational medical companies use theExpo platform to quickly 'integrate' into China
At the 5th China Import Expo in Shanghai,two achievements of Boston Scientific's "localization strategy" werepresented for the first time, including the Polaris Intravascular UltrasoundSystem "The other is Boston Scientific's first medical device developedand produced in China, the "Fusion Wing" single-use radiofrequencyablation electrode.
The Fair actively advocates"exhibits into commodities, exhibitors into investors". "We takeadvantage of the international cooperation platform effect of the Fair tocontinuously expand the local circle of friends, embed the domestic medical andhealth care ecological chain, and promote the global innovation achievements tothe Chinese market." David Zhang, President of Boston Scientific GreaterChina, told CNN: "The four years that the Fair is getting better andbetter are also the four years that Boston Scientific's localization isaccelerating."
Benefiting from the "Expoeffect", many of Boston Scientific's innovative products showcased at theExpo have been turned from exhibits to commodities, such as the Rimon ThermalSteam Therapy Device and the single-use prostate thermal steam therapy deviceRimon System, both approved and put into clinical use in China this year, withits market launch process a year and a half to two years earlier than theconventional model. The launch process is one and a half to two years earlierthan the conventional model. In addition, three other exhibits from theprevious Expo have embarked on the "highway" of access and areexpected to enter the Chinese market ahead of schedule.
This year, Boston Scientific registeredthe establishment of Boston Scientific Medical Technology (Shanghai) Co. JunZhang said, "We will continue to cultivate the local direction firmly, inthe research and development, introduction, production, professional educationand other dimensions, a comprehensive increase in localization, and the localmedical ecosystem symbiosis, to better meet the unmet needs of Chinese doctorsand patients, to help achieve the strategic goals of Health China 2030."
Thermo Fisher Scientific broughtdiversified solutions for the research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment ofvarious diseases at the Expo. It is worth mentioning that the company has setup a special exhibition area at the Expo, detailing its continuous localizationin China over the years and working with local partners to promote innovationand sustainable social development.
