Lallemand launches Lalguard M52 in Europe
Lallemand has expanded its portfolio of biological plant protection products with the launch of two new biopesticides. In 2022, the company acquired the intellectual property rights to MET52® biocides from Novozymes, incorporating Lallemand's biocide portfolio under the trade names Lalguard M52 OD and Lalguard M52 GR. The granule version is already available in many European countries, and the OD version will be in large-scale trials in registered European countries this spring and will be available by the end of 2023.
Lalguard M52 is a biocide based on the MA43 strain of Metaranisopliae brown that is effective against a wide range of economically damaging pests, applied to both edible and non-edible crops in greenhouses and in the open air. The advantages of Lalguard M52 are that in addition to providing effective control over a wide variety of pests, there is no known resistance risk, it is compatible with IPM, it has no toxicological classification, and it can be used in organic agriculture.
Lallemand has been an expert in the field of yeast and bacteria production since the early 1900s. The family business is now a global leader in the development, production and sale of microorganisms for a variety of agri-food industries. With sound science and expertise, Lallemand works closely with customers to provide the right techniques and the right formulations for proper application.
