Thousand-Ton Long Carbon Chain Nylon Elastomer Project Put into Production
On November 25, Weihai Xinyuan New Materials Co., Ltd.’s Phase II formaldehyde-free environmentally friendly water-based adhesive project and thousand-ton long carbon chain nylon elastomer project held a completion and commissioning ceremony in the Chemical Industrial Park of Wendeng Economic Development Zone, Weihai City, Shandong, China.
These two projects are the second phase of the entire new material project. The first phase of the high-end new material production project has been successfully put into production at the end of 2022.
Weihai Xinyuan New Materials Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xinyuan Chemical (Shandong) Co., Ltd., located in the Chemical Industrial Park of Wendeng Economic Development Zone. Since its establishment, it has been engaged in the research and development and production of high-end new materials.
It is the only fluorosilicone rubber manufacturer with a complete industrial chain in China and is a national high-tech enterprise. The company has worked closely with Yang Wantai, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and established the country's first pilot base led by the academician.
On May 28, 2022, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized experts to hold an online meeting on the "Key Technologies for the development, industrial production and processing of Long carbon chain polyamide elastomers" completed by Xinyuan Chemical (Shandong) Co., Ltd. and the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The appraisal expert committee formed an appraisal opinion that: this scientific and technological achievement created a polyamide elastomer with AABB type long carbon chain polyamide as the hard segment, developed an industrialized preparation technology for long carbon chain polyamide elastomer, and achieved a typical application demonstration. Overall, it has reached the international advanced level.
Xinyuan Chemical (Shandong) Co., Ltd. has built a 100-ton industrial production line and achieved stable supply in 2021. The products produced are suitable for molding processes such as supercritical foaming, and lightweight and highly elastic materials have been successfully prepared for use in the manufacturing and sales of high-end sports shoes.
The appraisal committee recommended further expanding the industrial production scale of long carbon chain polyamide elastomers, increasing promotion efforts in high-end shoe materials, professional sports equipment and medical industries, and breaking the long-term dependence on imports of high-end elastomer materials.
Since then, a team led by researcher Dong Xia from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has cooperated with companies such as Shandong Guangyin New Materials Co., Ltd. and Xinyuan Chemical (Shandong) Co., Ltd. to build a thousand-ton production line for long carbon chain polyamide elastomers.
