Lotte Chemical promotes carbon neutral business
Recently, Lotte Chemical of South Korea announced that it has signed an agreement with Samsung Engineering to promote carbon neutrality and expand its environmental protection business. The agreement will help Lotte Chemical to promote carbon-neutral business growth by 2030. The two companies plan to cooperate with domestic and foreign companies to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gases and environmental impact substances, develop carbon capture and utilization technologies, and jointly participate in green hydrogen business and technology licensing.
The Lotte Group released its Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) business strategy in February this year. The goal is to continuously expand chemical production while maintaining CO2 emissions at the level of 2019 by 2030, and generating production processes. Waste, air pollutants and wastewater that are harmful to the environment are reduced by 50%.
