Cabot launches new universal circular black masterbatch
Cabot Corporation announces the launch of new Replasblak universal circular black masterbatches made from certified sustainable materials.
With this launch, Cabot introduces two new products that will be marketed as the industry’s first universal circular black masterbatch with International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS) certified content. The new Replasblak universal circular black masterbatch, powered by Evolve Sustainable Solutions, will enable Cabot to continue delivering the high performance, quality and reliability the plastics industry requires for large-scale certified circular solutions.
The global transition to a low-carbon future is driving demand for advanced sustainable solutions to support the circular economy and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a result, automotive plastics compounders and processors are seeking third-party certified black masterbatch products that utilize circular value chains and recycled feedstocks during product manufacturing. Cabot is committed to a more sustainable future with its new universal circular black masterbatch product made from mechanically recycled polymers. These solutions provide customers with a single ISCC PLUS certified masterbatch for the coloration of polyolefins and many engineering plastics in a variety of automotive applications.
"In our pioneering role as the first global manufacturer to offer general-purpose black masterbatch, we are pleased to expand our general-purpose black masterbatch portfolio with the new REPLASBLAK round masterbatch with ISCC PLUS certified content," said Jeff Zhu, executive vice president and president, Carbon & Silica Technologies, Battery Materials and Asia Pacific Region.
"By aligning with third-party certifications such as ISCC PLUS, our customers gain the validation they need to ensure the integrity and performance of our global supply chains as they progress towards their sustainability goals and ambitions. The launch of our new products underscores our unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable materials innovation and developing novel solutions that pave the way for a more sustainable future." Evolve Sustainable Solutions is Cabot’s technology platform for delivering sustainably enhanced carbon and other high-performance materials.
