Dymax Launches High-Performance Coatings for Energy Storage Systems
Dymax announces the launch of a select line of light-cured adhesives and coatings. They are designed to meet the complex assembly needs of stationary energy storage systems. It includes industrial gas turbines (IGT) and various types of fuel cells and electrolyzers, such as solid oxide (SOFC) and proton exchange membrane (PEMFC). Dymax is a manufacturer of fast-curing materials and equipment.
Energy system manufacturers and assemblers often face challenges related to durability, efficiency, and safe operation under a variety of demanding conditions. Dymax's adhesives, coatings, encapsulants, sealants, and masking agents are designed to address assembly and end-product performance barriers in energy applications.
These materials cure quickly when exposed to light, which speeds up production. This is important for high-volume production. They also provide strong adhesion to a variety of substrates used in energy system components. It includes metals and advanced composites. Their versatility makes them suitable for applications that require high structural integrity, tight sealing, and performance under fluctuating conditions.
Dymax products are effective in environments that require resistance to high temperatures and corrosive chemicals. During the manufacturing and assembly of SOFC and PEM fuel cell stacks, gasket sealants and adhesives maintain their integrity at high temperatures and resist chemical degradation from fuel cell electrolytes and gases.
Photocurable masking agents protect sensitive gas turbine engine components during surface treatment. Conformal coatings and encapsulation materials protect printed circuit boards within IGT control systems from environmental changes.
Dymax products provide electrical insulation and mechanical stability to large battery assemblies in ESS and battery packs. These features help enable safer and more reliable energy storage solutions, supporting renewable energy integration and grid stability.
Photocurable materials also support sustainability initiatives by reducing energy consumption during the curing process and eliminating the need for solvents. As a result, it minimizes the environmental impact of traditional manufacturing processes.
In addition to formulated products, Dymax has a range of photocuring equipment and dispensing systems. It enhances high-speed assembly lines, increasing production and efficiency.
