September 17 news
This week, the Chinese anhydrous hydrogen fluoride market continued to operate at a high level. According to the monitoring and analysis system, as of September 17, the benchmark price of hydrogen fluoride was 16,600.00 CNY/ton, unchanged from the beginning of the month. On the raw material side: the price of fluorspar, a key raw material, remained strong, with suppliers holding back on sales, providing strong cost support for hydrogen fluoride. However, the price of sulfuric acid continued to weaken, significantly reducing its role in supporting costs. Despite the offsetting effects of one rising and one falling raw material, the overall production cost of hydrogen fluoride remained high. According to the analysis system, as of September 17, the benchmark price of fluorspar was 3,700.00 CNY/ton, an increase of 2.25% compared to the beginning of the month (3,618.75 CNY/ton).
Market Forecast: Hydrofluoric acid analysts predict that, with the price of sulfuric acid and fluorite—raw materials—moving in opposite directions, cost pressures on hydrofluoric acid remain relatively stable. Meanwhile, downstream demand remains weak, and procurement is primarily driven by rigid demand. We expect the Chinese anhydrous hydrofluoric acid market to remain largely stable in the short term. Further attention should be paid to developments on the raw material side as well as the status of maintenance shutdowns at downstream refrigerant manufacturers.
