According to reports, on the evening of the 22nd, the YNCC factory in Yeosu, South Korea suffered a power outage caused by a lightning strike, and Line 1 stopped unplanned. There are 3 sets of ethylene cracking units in the plant by-producing pure benzene, and the unit involved in this accident is Unit 1.
According to statistics, the YNCC plant has 3 sets of ethylene cracking units in Yeosu, South Korea, with an annual ethylene processing capacity of 2.285 million tons/year. The list of units related to pure benzene is shown below.
As can be seen from the above statistics, the plant has a production capacity of 457,000 tons of pure benzene in Lishui, which is distributed in three sets of plants. The equipment involved in this accident is No. 1, with a designed production capacity of 162,000 tons of pure benzene, and supporting downstream styrene. Previously, on February 11, the plant's No. 3 unit was shut down due to an explosion accident.
According to market news, the parking device of Line 1 is currently recovering, and it is expected to restart in the short term.
YNCC Line 1 has a production capacity of 900,000 tons of ethylene, 450,000 tons of propylene, 270,000 tons of butadiene, 162,000 tons of pure benzene, 107,000 tons of toluene, and 179,000 tons of xl. At the same time, Line 1 of the refinery has a downstream supporting styrene production capacity of 370,000 tons.
In addition, the No. 3 line of the refinery was shut down due to an explosion on February 3 and has not yet recovered. Line 3 has direct products of 500,000 ethylene, 250,000 propylene, 180,000 butadiene, 110,000 tons of pure benzene, and 60,000 tons of toluene. 10,000 tons, xl 30,000.
