In August, China's logistics industry prosperity index of 50.9%

The China Logistics and Purchasing Federation today released the China Logistics Industry Prosperity Index in August, which was 50.9%, down 0.2 percentage points from last month, and the China Warehousing Index was 54.3%, up 4.5 percentage points from last month. He Hui, director of China Logistics Information Center, said that in August, the prosperity index of logistics industry showed a cyclical decline, but still remained above 50%. From the regional point of view, the eastern region is affected by climate and other factors, but it is still in the expansion zone; the central and western regions have a slight recovery. From a variety perspective, driven by summer consumption, food, clothing, household appliances and daily necessities related to people's livelihood continue to rise.
The new order index has rebounded and the market demand has increased. In August, the new order index was 50.7%, up 0.2 percentage points from last month, showing that the peak season of traditional production and construction is approaching, and the logistics demand of upstream and downstream enterprises in supply chain is further increased. The average inventory index increased and the inventory turnover index fell. In August, the average inventory index was 50.3%, up 1.2 percentage points from last month, reflecting the influence of festival factors. The production of enterprises related to people's livelihood increased, and the warehousing business related to logistics increased. The inventory turnover index was 48.4%, down 0.4 percentage points from last month. Regionally, the eastern region declined by a margin of 0.4 percentage points. Obviously, the adverse weather factors such as typhoon have a greater impact on transport business, which reduces the inventory turnover efficiency of circulation link. Employees'index rose, and the situation of logistics employment was stable. In August, the Employee Index rose 1.3 percentage points to 50%, ending four consecutive months of contraction. It shows that the overall employment situation in the logistics industry is stable.
From the later trend, the new order index and business activity expectation index are 50.7% and 58.8% respectively, which indicates that with the further consolidation of the demand base of logistics operation, business activities of logistics will continue to move smoothly.
