The world's largest BDO production base is completed in China
On August 1, 2022, a grand delivery ceremony was held for the 280,000 tons per year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) project of Inner Mongolia Dongjing Bio-Environmental Technology Co., Ltd, which is general contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is over RMB 3 billion. Since the EPC contract was signed on March 3, 2021 and the project site started on May 20 of the same year, it took only 14 months (436 days) to complete the mid-term delivery.
This project is the world's first 280,000 tons/year 1,4-butanediol (BDO), which adopts Hong Kong Kuanda acetal process technology, with long continuous production cycle and high product quality, and is the largest 1,4-butanediol (BDO) plant in the world.

The project is located in Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia, taking advantage of local resources such as lime, electricity and coal. Upon completion of the project, the maximum production capacity of Dongjing Bio 1,4-Butanediol will reach 380,000 tons per year, which will become the largest green, low-carbon and recycling integrated industrial base of 1,4-Butanediol in the world.
The project is more challenging in terms of construction period, quality, safety and technical difficulty, which also puts higher demands on the project team's management ability. At the beginning of the construction, according to the past successful project experience, the project team carefully optimized the project implementation plan, and optimized the design, procurement and construction difficulties and problems in the design stage to achieve the overall rapid process.
