Secretory otitis media
Secretory otitis media is a non-suppurative inflammatory disease of the middle ear characterized by tympanic effusion and hearing loss. The effusion in the middle ear can be serous transudate or exudate, or mucus. There is no unified name for this disease, and some are called exudative otitis media, catarrhal otitis media, serous otitis media, serous-mucous otitis media, and non-suppurative otitis media. The viscous and colloid smear in the middle ear is called glue ear.
