Localized scleroderma
As the name implies, scleroderma is a disease in which the skin becomes hard. In general, localized scleroderma refers to lesions that are limited to the skin and do not affect the internal organs. This is located at one end of the disease spectrum, while diffuse scleroderma, which is a systemic sclerosis with extensive skin lesions and multiple organ involvement, is located at the other end of the disease spectrum. Between the two extremes, there are some intermediate types, such as generalized morphea in localized scleroderma, acrofacial scleroderma in systemic sclerosis, and CREST syndrome.
