Sjögren's syndrome
Sjögren syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that invades the exocrine glands, especially the salivary glands and lacrimal glands. The main manifestations are dry mouth and eyes, and there may also be damage to multiple organs and systems. There are a large number of lymphocytes infiltrating the affected organs, and multiple autoantibodies are positive in the serum. This syndrome is also called autoimmune exocrine gland disease, Sjögren syndrome, and dry mouth and eye arthritis syndrome. It often overlaps with other rheumatic diseases or autoimmune diseases.
