Seborrheic dermatitis
Seborrhoeic dermatitis refers to the hypersecretion of sebaceous glands. It is characterized by a greasy, shiny scalp with a lot of scaling. It is more likely to occur in areas with developed sebum. It is a chronic inflammation that occurs on the basis of seborrhea. The lesions are bright red or yellow-red patches with greasy scales or crusts on the surface, often accompanied by varying degrees of itching. It is more common in adults, but can also be seen in newborns.
