Autosomal recessive cerebral arteriopathy and arteriosclerosis with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy
CARASIL is the abbreviation of cerebral autosomal recessive arteriopathy/arteriosclorosis with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CARASIL), also known as young-onset Binswanger-like leukoencephalopathy with baldness and low back pain (Fukutake, 1998). Fukutake (1985) reported a family of three young brothers with neurological symptoms and imaging features similar to Binswanger disease. He reviewed four cases published in Japan in 1965, which lacked risk factors for cerebrovascular disease and all had baldness and low back pain, pointing out that it might be an autosomal recessive syndrome.

Simvastatin
Indication: 1. For patients with coronary heart disease, simvastatin is suitable for: reducing the risk of death; reducing the risk of death from coronary heart disease and non-fatal myocardial infarction; reducing myocardial revascularization surgery (coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous balloon coronary angioplasty); delaying the progression of atherosclerosis, including the occurrence of new lesions and total blockage.
