Tan powder. Mp 68C. Soluble in alcohol, benzene. Propachlor is a light tan solid.ChEBI: An anilide that consists of 2-chloroacetanilide bearing an N-isopropyl substituent.Light tan solid. Corrosive to iron and steel. Used as an herbicide.

N-isopropylaniline was prepared by reacting aniline and 2-chloropropane at 130~140℃ under 1MPa pressure for 4h; the temperature was lowered to 95℃, chloroacetyl chloride was slowly added dropwise after pressure relief, and the reaction was conducted at 100℃ for 3h. Toxachlor.
