Tuberculous otomastoiditis
Middle ear tuberculosis was diagnosed only after the discovery of tuberculosis bacillus in 1882. It is often secondary to pulmonary tuberculosis, with an incidence rate of 13% in the early 19th century. In the past 20 years, due to the advent of effective anti-tuberculosis drugs, the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis has been significantly reduced, and tuberculous otomastoiditis is now rarely seen. The most reported case in China was 41 cases reported by Wang Pengwan in 1956.
