Nodular panniculitis
Nodular panniculitis (NP), also known as Weber-Christian disease or relapsing nodular nonsuppurative febrile panniculitis, is a disease characterized by recurrent inflammatory nodules or plaques in the subcutaneous fat layer, accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever. The clinical manifestations are diverse. NP can occur at any age, but it is more common in women aged 30 to 50 years old, with a female to male ratio of about 2.5:1. It is not easy to recognize and often leads to misdiagnosis.
