Nonspecific urethritis
Nonspecific urethritis (NGU), also known as non-gonococcal urethritis, is a relatively common sexually transmitted disease. It usually refers to the occurrence of mucopurulent or serous urethral discharge in men within a few days or weeks after sexual intercourse, accompanied by urinary pain; the urethral discharge contains a large number of pus cells, but no gonococci can be found by Gram staining microscopy or culture.
