Ammonium chloride tablets

Due to the chemical stimulation of this product on the mucous membrane, the amount of sputum increases reflexively, making it easier to discharge sputum, which is beneficial to the removal of sticky sputum that is difficult to cough up. After this product is absorbed, chloride ions enter the blood and extracellular fluid to acidify the urine.

The main ingredient of this product is ammonium chloride.

This product is white tablets.

It is suitable for people with thick sputum that is difficult to cough up; it is also used when urine needs to be acidified during urinary tract infections.

Common dosage for adults: Oral expectorant, 0.3g (1 tablet) to 0.6g (2 tablets) at a time, 3 times a day. For acidifying urine, 0.6g to 2g at a time, 3 times a day.

There is nausea and occasional vomiting after taking it.

1. Use with caution in patients with abnormal liver and kidney function; 2. Contraindicated in patients with severe liver and kidney damage, especially hepatic coma, renal failure, and uremia; 3. Avoid use in patients with metabolic acidosis.

Precautions for children: Usual dosage for children: 40-60 mg/kg per day based on body weight, or 1.5 g/m2 per body surface area, divided into 4 doses. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not clear. Precautions for the elderly: Use with caution.

This product is incompatible with sulfadiazine, nitrofurantoin, etc.
