Essential thrombocythemia in children
Idiopathic or primary thrombocytosis (ET), also known as hemorrhagic thrombocytosis, is a myeloproliferative disease with megakaryocyte proliferation as the main feature. It has a low incidence and is relatively rare in children. It is clinically characterized by bleeding, thrombosis and persistent thrombocytosis, accompanied by mild proliferation of other hematopoietic cell lines. Clinically, if the platelet count continues to increase for unknown reasons, >1000×109/L, and other myeloproliferative diseases are excluded, this disease can be considered.
