Tachycardia cardiomyopathy
Long-term chronic tachycardia or continuous rapid cardiac pacing can cause cardiac enlargement and heart failure, similar to dilated cardiomyopathy. As long as the tachycardia is controlled, the heart morphology and function can partially or completely return to normal. This cardiomyopathy caused by tachycardia is called tachycardiomyopathy (TCM).
