Acute epidural hematoma
Epidural hematoma is a hematoma located between the inner plate of the skull and the dura mater. It is common on the convex surface of the supratentorial hemisphere. Most cases are solitary, and multiple cases are rare. However, it can be combined with other types of hematomas to form a complex hematoma. Among them, epidural hematoma at the point of trauma combined with subdural hematoma at the counterpoint is more common, and intracerebral hematoma is rare. Epidural hematoma can be seen in patients of any age, but is more common in young and middle-aged people aged 15 to 40. In children, because the intracranial vascular grooves are shallow and the skull and meninges are tightly adhered, there is less chance of damaging the meningeal arteries and meningeal peeling, and epidural hematoma is rare.
