Function and Efficacy
After entering the blood, most of this product binds to plasma proteins and accumulates in tissues, with the largest accumulation in skeletal muscle. When the concentration in plasma decreases, it is released again. Most of this product is hydrolyzed and converted by plasma cholinesterase, metabolized by the liver into p-aminobenzoic acid and dimethylaminoethanol, and then degraded or combined and excreted in the urine.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is tetracaine hydrochloride, and its chemical name is 4-(butylamino)-benzoic acid-2-(dimethylamino)ethyl ester hydrochloride.

Indication
Used for epidural block, subarachnoid block, nerve conduction block, and mucosal surface anesthesia.
Usage and Dosage
This product is a powder injection, which needs to be dissolved with sodium chloride injection or sterile water for injection. The concentration and dosage of the drug solution are as follows according to the purpose: 1. Epidural block: The commonly used concentration is 0.15-0.3% solution, used in combination with lidocaine hydrochloride, the highest concentration is 0.3%, the common dosage is 40-50mg, and the maximum dosage is 80mg. 2. Subarachnoid block: The commonly used mixed solution (1% tetracaine hydrochloride 1ml mixed with 10% glucose injection 1ml, 3% ephedrine hydrochloride 1ml) is used, the common dosage is 10mg, 15mg is the limit, and 20mg is the maximum dosage. 3. Nerve conduction block: The commonly used concentration is 0.1%-0.2%, the common dosage is 40-50mg, and the maximum dosage is 100mg.
Adverse Reactions
1. Toxic reaction: The potency of this product is 10 times that of procaine, and its toxicity is also 10 times higher than that of procaine. The incidence of toxic reactions is also higher than that of procaine. It is often caused by large doses, rapid absorption or improper operation, such as accidental injection into blood vessels causing excessive blood drug concentration. The symptoms of overdose poisoning are: dizziness, vertigo, followed by chills, tremors, panic, and finally convulsions and coma, as well as respiratory failure and hypotension, which require timely rescue. 2. Allergic reaction: It can cause sudden death in allergic patients, and caution is required even during surface anesthesia. 3. It can cause rash or urticaria, edema of the face, mouth or (and) glossopharyngeal area, etc.
Precautions
1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product; 2. It is contraindicated for those with severe allergic constitution; 3. It is contraindicated for patients with heart and kidney dysfunction, myasthenia gravis, etc.
Drug Interactions
1. Do not use with alkaline liquid medicine. 2. If used with certain acidic liquid medicine, the dissociation value of this product may be affected due to the different pH values, resulting in reduced local anesthesia or delayed onset of action. 3. Do not take sulfonamides at the same time.
