Hands have the most and most frequent contact with the outside world, making them more susceptible to injury. Among orthopedic emergency patients, hand injuries account for about a quarter of the total number of patients, and open hand injuries account for two-thirds of the total number of hand injuries. The prevention and treatment of hand injuries is an important topic in the field of surgery. In particular, early treatment of complex emergency hand injuries must be emphasized, and a positive attitude must be maintained towards such injuries. If the early treatment is correct, a second stage operation can often be avoided. If the injury is too severe to be repaired early, conditions should be created as much as possible during early surgery for late repair.
