Pulmonary hypertension is when the pressure in the pulmonary artery exceeds the normal maximum value. Generally speaking, pulmonary hypertension is considered when the systolic pressure of the pulmonary artery is higher than 4 kPa (30 mmHg) and the mean pressure exceeds 2.7 kPa (20 mmHg).
