Amebic colitis
Amoebic dysentery is an infectious disease. Its pathogen is Entamoeba histolytica (also known as Ameba histolytica), which is the only pathogenic amoeba in humans. It belongs to the phylum Protozoa, class Sarcopoda, subclass Rhizopoda. Its body is composed of only one cell, has no fixed shape, and can change its shape at will. At the same time, it can also extend pseudopodia throughout the body, and its main functions are movement and feeding. There are three forms in human tissues and feces: large trophozoites, small trophozoites, and cysts. When the body's resistance is reduced, Entamoeba histolytica is in the intestine, destroying the intestinal wall, or invading other organs. Trophozoites have weak resistance outside the body and are prone to death.
