Tubal tuberculosis
Tubal tuberculosis is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes of the female internal reproductive organs caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is also called tuberculous salpingitis. The fallopian tubes often appear granuloma-like, and various types of chronic inflammatory changes can be seen. The fallopian tubes are the main invaded organ in genital tuberculosis, accounting for 85% to 95%. Tubal tuberculosis is mostly found in women aged 20 to 40, and can also be seen in elderly women after menopause. Even those infected with tuberculosis before puberty rarely cause genital tract infection. However, due to the continuous improvement of diagnostic technology in recent years, it has been confirmed that its incidence rate has an upward trend.
