Premature ventricular contractions in the elderly
Premature ventricular contraction is the premature ventricular excitation caused by the ectopic pacemaker below the His bundle branch. It is more common in the elderly, some may have no obvious clinical symptoms, and some may lead to serious consequences, which should not be ignored. In the elderly, premature ventricular contraction is more common in patients with organic heart disease, and can also be seen in normal people without organic heart disease. If premature ventricular contraction is found, a 24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram should be performed, and quantitative and qualitative analysis of premature ventricular contraction should be performed to evaluate and guide prognosis.
