Botrytis cinerea in children
More than 90% of vaginal malignancies in children are grape-like sarcomas, which are highly malignant tumors that progress rapidly and have a very poor prognosis. They are more common in infants and young children. The tumor originates from primitive mesenchymal cells in the superficial tissue of the vaginal wall, and is more common in the upper part of the vaginal wall, especially the anterior wall. The tumor is translucent polyp-like, grayish white or pink, like a grape, filling the vagina and protruding outside the vaginal opening. The surface of the tumor is often ulcerated, necrotic and bleeding.
