Nodular fat necrosis
Nodular fat necrosis is also known as subcutaneous fat necrosis of pancreatitis. Chiai described the fat necrotic inflammation associated with pancreatic disease. In addition to subcutaneous fat necrosis and small joint synovitis, it can also cause fat necrosis of the pancreas and its surrounding omentum and mesentery. Skin lesions manifest as repeated and batched tender subcutaneous nodules or erythema.
